Update from Kawika 6/25/10
Text message from Kawika;
Wayne just got out of the water and all I can say is WOW! Paddles extremely well and turns on a dime.
Thank you.
Another update from Kawika 6/26/10 second session on the new Bryd-Fish II
Wayne,Just got out of the water with my 2nd session with the new board and all I can say is that I am very happy with the finished board. The board rides so well it's confidence inspiring. It fells like it's an extension of my feet. Surfing has become really fun again and with this new board I am looking forward to progressing my surfing even further.
Thank you.
Kawika
Kawika, Thanks for taking the time to post your feed back. Coming from someone that has probably owned and surfed as many shapes from virtually every known underground shaper and every top retail boards and everything inbetween, I honestly do not know anyone, pro or non pro to have your insight of nearly every modern shape and shaper out there. Your positive feedback means alot, coming from your low-key nature. Thank you. W>

Wayne what are the fins Kawika is using and are all his boards quads?

Nate,
ReplyDeleteI originally set the board up with Futures Scimitar w/ 413 pivots. Not sure which version Kawika ended up using. Maybe he'll chime in on his insights....

Wayne & Nate,
ReplyDeleteI left the Scimitar's with 413 pivots that Wayne installed and it's working great.
Nate - all my boards are quads but this one is by far the loosest one I have ever ridden. Wayne must have added some pixie dust on this one.
Kawika
Nice!! I love that magic pixie dust! my xxl mb is working up to it!! I think that I am a quad convert and Wayne's quads certainly help with my devotion. Kawika/ Wayne do you think its the scallops/concave that give it the looseness

I think this is the direction I'm going to head towards. Hoping to talk specifics soon.
ReplyDeleteAll the best,

JS,
ReplyDeleteSorry, I just sent you an email response.
The Scimitar with the 413 Pivots seem to be the ideal fin set for this shape. The tail rocker along with the Scalloped Hull and unique fin setting compliments the pivotal nature of Scimitars which, loosens up the board and is easy to generate speed and the increased release makes the board responsive especially for the volume of the shape.
