  1. Man, that is a fine, fine longboard. Absolutely beautiful. I'm speechless.

  2. That is a very nice looking longboard. It's looks to be on the same level as a Tyler. Nice work!

  3. I'm gobsmacked, Wayne.
The way that tail rocker blends through to the fin!

Who did the glass and colour work?
Is that a new Oakfoils logo on the deck?

  4. Thanks for the nice compliments, Tylers glass jobs are super tight and flat, it's hard to find glassers that are on Tylers level. Let alone find someone that can laminate as meticulous as he does. No such thing as a flawless glass job, but Tylers glass jobs are as good as it gets.

My love of work is in designing and shaping, I try and concentrate on progessing the level of my shaping, that's difficult enough for me. I can't even fathom trying to do both at the level of Tylers work. It would be impossible to do everything myslelf, I would have to hire help and charge 2-3 times as much. And the boards would take along time to finish.

Most of my clientel are core guys and want to just surf on a killer custom shape designed exclusively for them, along with a high quality but simple glass job and a reasonable turn around time.

But hey I can do both! Just let me know what suits your fancy! I have spoken to Tyler about possibly having Tyler glass my special super duper high quality series shapes. Get a custom Oak Foils with Tylers glassing. Best of both worlds!:-)

  5. Hi Dan,
Zaima did the lamination, Berg hotcoat, Justin sand, and Pancho did the polishing. And last but not least, Jim did the most critical job, delivering the board earlier than scheduled. Awsome crew.

  7. It was offshore and warm and 7' at 20 seconds today at my favorite break. I rode my Super Dyna Glyde and got my share of waves. But as I fought the current, I kept thinking about the Double Step. Now that I see the finished product, I am stunned. The craftsmanship is superb. Looks like the SDG will be on the rack for awhile.

  11. Thanks Scott!

The Rick UFO is somewhat similar ie, the soft double steps. But other than that they are much different, everything from foil to outlines and rail contours are completely different. From the photos it's difficult to tell.

  13. John, good to hear from you. Please feel free to stop by when in town, just a few clicks from LAX.

Seems like you have an affinity for the old Hansens, give me a hollar and I can have one of my interpretation ready for you when you drop in. ;)

  15. yeah kelly time to experiment with some traditional stuff! let me know, I have been thinking of a new traditional styled noserider shape with more emphasis on being practical than how most nr's are shaped like.... being a one trick pony.
