Update; 6/27/11 email from Lesley
Wayne,
I took the egg out today for the first time on 2-3 foot wanted to let you
know it was EXACTLY what I was hoping for. I couldn't believe the glide and
speed for a 6'6 / 21 board and still so maneuverable. Thanks again! I have
a feeling you may be hearing from me again. There might be a dyna glyde or a
byrd fish type in my future.
V/R,
Lesley
Sweet! What is the size of that thing?
ReplyDelete6'6" x 21" mini version of the Dyna-Eggs generally run around 7'0" - on up. This is the first Dyna-Egg under 7'. Came out really nice, the foil is super clean volume in just the right areas. :)
ReplyDeleteYeah it's amazing how well it scales up and down. Dyna's are usually pretty thick. Is this one under 3"? It looks like it would be under 3" from the pics.
ReplyDeleteYes I think this was around 2.8 or so... well under 3".
ReplyDeleteYes, super clean board indeed. I really dig that color.
ReplyDeletethe color is so unique kinda like a creamy granny apple green. Rick Karen did the custom colored to sample. One of the issues with any type of coloring on eps/spoxy is, 1) the texture of the of the foam 2) the epoxy resins yellowing or discoloring in patches. Also, the level of detail can't be matched compared to poly construction.
ReplyDeleteWow that is a great color... I did not think it would come out that well with epoxy... I love the shape also!! hope to be down there in the begining of July.

I just noticed what FCS fins would you recommend?
ReplyDeletenate
Lesley wanted FCS, I can install the plugs but I don't supply the fins with any FCS installs.
ReplyDeleteFor Lesley if it was a Futures install I would recommend the VF II Quad fronts and 340 rears and 375 rears. Alternating between two sets of rears for changing conditions.
