Tribute Lightning Bolt Pipe Gun for Mitch

70's Lightning Bolt Tribute Gun
The shape and specs are from my personal favorite gun shape from the 70's.
I did the hot coat sanding and gloss fine sand and polish. Used to do some custom car painting in my youth and wanted a dead flat polish like the old nitro-cellular laquer paint jobs from the period.

Ziama did the resin work and lamination, Berg did the hot coat, Mike Bome' from Aggressions Surfboard did the gloss and the creme resin bolts and pinlines. John Cherry made the custom fin from Baltic Birch ply and capped the ends with some nice Flamed Koa. Jim Hodges did the most important part. Collect my money.

  3. Is that your old chambered balsa gun in the background?

    1. Yup, I used the balsa as a study model. I made some subtle refinements. Funny how archaic the balsa is compared to yours.
