New XXL Modern Simmons "Maxximms" for Kawika

  1. Hey Wayne. I only had one session on the board so far in weak wind swell conditions, but I have to tell you the board is exactly what I wanted. There was zero learning cure since it paddles and rides very similar to the Mini Axis. The shorter length and quad fins keep it nice and loose and fast. It gets into waves with very little effort, bottoms turns like its on rails and pivots off the face quick and tight.

I have ordered many boards from you over the years, but this is by far my favorite.

Thank you for the patience to hear me out, understand what I really wanted and delivering. The double apple core stringer which looks like a T-band, black rails, black boomerang and black fins really look good together. It's nice to give you free reign to do what you want, the finished results are always amazing.

    1. Mike, I can shape this design to any size, by the feed back of your Mini Axis I can adjust up or down to dial in your needs.

  3. Mike, this shape has the DNA from the Mini Axis Noserider that was your request for a true mini noserider in all respects except to keep the length at 7' to fit inside a standard size truck bed or inside a compact vehicle. Ala Mini Axis Noserider! Since Kawika loves the glide and drive of the Mini Axis he desired a Mini Simms inspired shape from the Mini Axis. I wanted to keep the basic width and thickness the same as Kawika's Mini Axis but 6" shorter, this will maintain the drive glide and essence of the Mini Axis but now with a slightly revised bottom and foil and custom quad fins formulated for the shape will increase the speed and rail to rail transition.

  4. Very interesting ... These Simmons-inspired shapes look like a blast. What about the glassing? I assume you're not going with the beefy volan glass? Also, can this be shaped with Futures boxes?
