Scott's custom Dyna-Egg in EPS/Epoxy

New strain off the Dyna-Glyde DNA. The new Dyna-Egg, features the basic rocker and foils as the original DG's. The template has been changed for a refined egg outline, still full but less bulk on the ends than the Dyna-Glyde in the same widths. The channels have also been moved with a bias towards the outside rails to increase drive and release from the new quad fin placements.
Rails incorporate the Double Apex which allows for a thinner peripherial apex for sensitivity and added bite, the upper deck apex adds volume to the deck for added volume for extra flotation.
Can be ridden as a Quad / Tri / or as Single with a long box or even as a 5-fin.

  2. Nate,
Sorry I didn't get a chance to take pics of the bottom tail section. It still has the 6 channels, the only diff is they are positioned to suit the new quad fin placement.

    7'8" x 22.5" x 3.1"

  3. WOOT!!!!! looking exactly like what I have pictured "in my head" for a classic "egg" shape, Wayne. Totally psyched to get my hands on this baby, and yet another new strain of the Dyna-glide platform !!!

Also cant wait to see how the color turns out :p ... "safety vest orange" will be SWEET if they can pull it off, LOL....
    thank so much!!!!

  4. Scott,
Jim the glasser mentioned that he didn't think he could get that bright of an orange out of opaque epoxy. He said he would try and make it bright as possible...

  7. I can't believe that is eps. That is nicest finish work I have seen on an eps foam. Must be sealed.

  8. Wayne, how would this scale down to something in the 6 1/2 to 7 foot range? As a single fin egg?

Would the double apex rails have to disappear as the volume went down? Or would you be able to foil them more due to the shorter length?

Either way, another stunning example of your work.

  9. Dan, this shape will translate well with some slight modifications. If you are already on a Dyna-Glyde the transition will "second nature".

The double apex will work well if you want to go with some extra volume and still keep the rails volume low.

Yes, this board was sealed. Honestly, I keep the finish of the EPS as smooth as possible, it takes alot of time but well worth it. The smoother the surface translate to a lighter and stonger board that still has a nice "resonance". You can have a killer shape with terrible resonance due to lumpy, gouged or uneven surfaces that will translate to uneven lamination by having to fill all the "bad" areas. This will translate to a board with less resonance and make the board feel less responsive.

  10. I have ordered EPS boards from at least a dozen different shapers and could not belive my eyes when I saw how clean Wayne's EPS finished blanks are.

Wayne's finished EPS blanks are cleaner than most other shapers finished poly blanks.

It's rare to find a shaper that takes as much pride in their work as Wayne does.

    Keep up the outstanding work!
