Preview of Frank's custom Le Machine 6 + 1

The Le Machine has a 6 + 1 fin box configuration, the 6 fin box allows for different quad fin set ups for different conditions.
For smaller surf the quad fin set up can be set up with the 4 fin boxes up front. With the cluster close together this allows for quicker rail to rail transition and for an overall looser feel/release.
For overhead and juicier faced or, for hollow surf the quad 4 fins can be set with the 2 boxes upfront and the two rear boxes. With the splay farther apart it will increase hold and draw out turns for control at higher speed.
Or, it can be set up as a 2 + 1 for all around performance. More choices, more fun!

  6. Frank, I've come to realize that if I want things done in a timely manner and done correctly I can't rely on others to do the work. That's why I work alone!! Well kinda... lol..

  8. Hi Wayne. Thanks for making Frank a believer in excellent customer service in custom board ordering. After getting burned by his last shaper and being as stubborn as Frank is(lol), he was pretty skeptical putting another order in with anyone else. I kept telling him to, "go with Wayne."
I currently have an 8 board quiver from a 5'4" Skillet to a 6'6" semigun. In March, i think, 2010 I added a 7'0" eps DG as an alternative to longboarding. After watching how well the dyna goes for me and opting to take the DG in knee high to overhead surf over my other boards finally pushed him over the edge!

  9. Hey Dave!,
Thank you for the refering Frank for a custom. I appreciate it very much, I survive on referrals. Stoked guys on the boards are what make me get up in the morning. I get stoked and amped to shape everyday as if the waves are good.

After speaking at length and seeing what Dave was into riding and what he was looking for in a custom shape I was amped to design him something unique that would suite his surfing and personality.

I'm stoked the Dyna-Glyde is getting some time in the rotation, as I know you have a large quiver of boards to choose from. It's nice to hear from you. Keep in touch!

  10. Wayne, David is right. I was a bit on the boiling side after dealing with the said shaper. As you know, David knows his surf & boards. Being a prior shaper & having over twenty years in the water, I try to learn as much as I can from him. But after seeing him rip it up on the DG; more often then any board in his quiver, and how highly he speaks of you I had to take the trip north. Super stoked I put my Irish stubborness to the side! Knew when I met you, you're are a true charger and a surfers shaper! It was truly an honor to have met you & going to be a honor to charge everything with this board! Thank you much!

  11. Frank, I would be upset with that said shaper also, in fact that was the main driving force and reason why I started shaping my own boards. I was tired of the too cool for skool attitude I got from the shapers when I just a kid. Or, just plain disregard for your order and board design.

As for myself, when I converse with my customer about designs and shapes, I am actually shaping the design in my mind... I don't like to wait too long from the conception to actually shaping the board. It's too easy to loose what I have conceptualized especially when all I do is customs and other shapes will easily fill the "void". I have many voids to fill. LOL..
