This was Jovie's orginal request to have US Blanks glue-up a custom multi wedge blank. Unfortunately the boys from USB was not able to get a tight convergence at the tip of the blank and was sent back to re-do again. Jeff from USB was not confident they could get the tip as requested so we had to settle for the basic double wedge glue-up. Sorry Jovie, it would have been nice to be able to shape a multi-wedge glue up. I think it still looks nice. :)
acorn! nice! pink n black is pretty cool, dunno how us blanks gets that glue up so perfect. tiny slivers of foam in between the glue lines+stringer at nose... crazy

ReplyDeleteit was a challenge, I haven't shaped or seen a multi wedge in a few decades. I've seen a few but the convergence points are past the nose tips.
Deletejesus triple wedge coming off at the bumps that would be seriously insane!
ReplyDeleteyeah, I was pretty excited to shape one!
ReplyDeletecan they do curved wedges? like, starting parallel (a little outboard) at the nose and then curving outward to exit at the desired points?
ReplyDeletecurved stringers and colored glue generally isn't a problem. I'll post up some pics if I have some in my archives.
DeleteWow! lookin good
ReplyDeletethanks jeff!
