The Wedged Blend for Dan

I prefer not to have any surprises and take the extra time to do a blueprint lay out prior to ordering custom wedge glue-ups. In this way there is no guess work and the glue ups end up exactly where you want it, that is if everyone is on the "same page". Also making a master rocker templates and indexing the rocker curve in the correct location on the blank helps insure the shape is in the correct location in the spec'd blank, makes all the difference. Love it when it all comes together. :)

The call out on this USblank is a 65A red density, red/natural/red Applecore .100" Basswood stringer, 0"-6.25" wedge cut (3.175" x 2 = 6.35" - .100" for stinger thickness = 6.25"), black glue.

    1. Dan, after all it was your request for this type of shape that inspired me to design The Blend. It was nice to add a simple and elegant style point to your design.

    1. I thought it would be interesting to see how I plan out the wedge cuts. Personally, I hate to see a nice shape with a wedge cut blank with the wedge running off the side of the shape or inside the corners of the shape... it's such focal point and adds a nice detail and style point if you can hit the run off points in relation to the corners of the shape, either the wings or tips of swallow tail, corners of a diamond or square tail.
