nate, yes it depends on the rider, and shape. I will shape in a slight double ahead of the channels on most Pynzers with a longer rail line and with more rocker.
With the Mini Pynzer rail line being much shorter, and the rocker being much lower I removed the dual concaves and introduced the inside stepped 4-channels, along with the pintail to increase the drive and help with release and on center stability , this allow the shape to be ridden extremely short with out loosing drive and on center stability.
Does some of The pynzers have the concave removed in front of the channels? If so is it because of length ie. mini pynzer ect.?
