Rus's Winged Skate

  1. Just got out of water. Took the board to Bay. 1-3' waves with a lot of speed. Similar to Porto waves. On the paddle out... wow, this board is small... but it's faster than my fish. Not as stable on the duck dive compared to the fish, but we will get to that. So I paddle into my first several waves: Closeouts. Then I get a nice right: Wow, everything I asked for in the board. The stability lost on the duck-dive, was rewarded on the cutbacks. The board feels so natural, I don't have to make foot adjustments. Heck, I don't even notice I have a board. It's like 2nd nature riding it on the face. I didn't think I was ready for 6'0" x 19 3/8" but it is the perfect dimension. I actually feel like I'm really surfing now. I think I will get a traction pad now. On several waves, I noticed I could turn the tail a little harder than I predicted. 10.5/10 on the board. Thanks Wayne.
