  2. Alex, thanks, On a side note about the template curves, they orginate from an old CI template that Russell Hoyte made for me when I was shaping the early CI Pods.

The early Pods are nothing like the ones that are made now. The ones I worked on were 3d digitized from the orginal hand shaped masters.

The new versions are designed from 2D slices and the missing data/areas are filled in by the software algorithms, they no longer have the "hinges" in the nose and tail. They don't ride like the originals..

  3. Whoaw! Very interesting! I can totally see the similarities now. We talked about this, the CI boards of today feel like shaped blanks, not like surfboards. It's a shame. I remember 15 years ago, they felt so good! It figures, that's when you and Hoyt were making them!

  4. I'm loving this board. I've been riding it in head high surf for the last 10 days in Nicaragua and it's taking my surfing to new levels. It even got me into a few double overhead monsters today. I felt a tad under gunned, but the board is the perfect travel companion. Great from waist high to 3ft overhead. A perfect mix of paddle power and responsiveness.
